Our Mission

To provide an effective, comprehensive, and fully integrated delivery system of services for successful employment. To bring together business, economic development, employment, training, education, labor, and social services to share responsibility for universal access and workforce development. To share resources to increase service delivery capacity and efficiency, and provide access to information and services across organizational lines.

Membership to the OneStop Workforce Partnership of Central Washington is open to all interested parties. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the partnership should submit a letter of interest to the full membership,

* Resource Room - FREE access to computers, phones, fax machines, copiers, and Internet, all for your use in resume writing and job search activities.
* Job Search Assistance - Let our staff and resources help match you with a job suited to your skills and career needs.
* Workshops - Several FREE workshops are available. Topics include writing effective resumes, interviewing, dressing for success, financial planning, and more.
* Unemployment Insurance Information - You can file a claim for unemployment insurance simply by dialing 1-800-362-4636. More information is available at gotoui.com, or from our WorkSource centers.
* Recruitments and Job Fairs - Many businesses come directly to us to fill their hiring needs. Make sure we have your resume, so that we can call on you when those opportunities arise. And watch for information about job fairs in your area.
* Career counseling and assessment - Our experienced staff can help you determine what sort of career you are best suited for, and what you can do to advance to an even better job.
* Transitional assistance (dislocated workers) - If you have lost your job because of a lay-off or business closure, let us help get you back into the working world as quickly and as successfully as possible. We may even be able to help finance your training for a new career.
* Information on job trends and labor market data

Rural Assistance Center: Health Services

What is the Rural Assistance Center?

A product of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Rural Initiative, the Rural Assistance Center (RAC) was established in December 2002 as a rural health and human services "information portal." RAC helps rural communities and other rural stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding, and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents.

Rainbow Valley Gleaners

Gleaners organizations exist to alleviate hunger and malnutrition. The local organization is the Rainbow Valley Gleaners [RVG] in White Salmon. Every Tuesday, volunteers collect available surplus food from many sources and bring it to the Grange Hall at 1085 Main Street. From 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. members of RVG can come to the Grange Hall and choose from the available food what they need to meet their own nutritional needs and those of their immediate family. The food must not be sold, exchanged or bartered with other people. Membership dues are $10 per month. Those who drive during any month do not have to pay dues for that month and volunteer drivers are needed now.
Call 493-3314 or visit the RVG on Tuesdays for more information. President Dan McBride and his cheerful volunteers are ready to share what they have collected.

In order to support healthy summer activities for our youth, the Klickitat County Health Department and Mt. Adam’s Transportation have established a summer bus schedule.

• Bus is available for both youth and adults.
• Children who need a car seat must be accompanied by an adult.
• The bus will stop only at designated locations.

Cost to Ride the Bus:
Bus passes can be purchased from Mt. Adams Transportation (Klickitat County Senior Services) for $25.00 and are good for the entire summer.

Individual trips (one way) are $0.50 for 17 and under and $1.00 for 18 and older and can be paid at the time of the trip.

Free youth bus passes are available for families who cannot afford the transportation services. Free passes are available at Bingen City Hall, Youth Center, and the Food Bank.

Riders coming from the White Salmon pool must wear dry clothes after swimming
or have a dry towel to sit on.

New Smoothie Bar at Collage of the Gorge

Have you checked out the new smoothie bar at Collage of the Gorge? Pam Morneault has a wonderful project to support and promote our community. She will buy fresh local fruit from children to use in her yummy smoothies. The fruit can be from their own backyards or from U-pick that they have gathered themselves.
What a great opportunity for our youth to participate in our mutual community. Thanks, Pam!
